Society (ISES)

The International Solar Energy Society (ISES) has been
actively engaged in advancing science, technology, policy and education needed
for the efficient use of renewable energy and its practical applications since
1954. A multi-faceted, global membership organisation individual and corporate members
in more than 110 countries, the Society is a modern, future-oriented
non-governmental organisation (NGO) recognised by the United Nations. The
mission of ISES is simple and urgent: a rapid transition to a renewable energy

project Solar Food Processing & Conservation (Solar Food). In addition to
several awareness raising activities as well as technical workshops, Solar Food
has created an international network of solar food processing experts. The on-line
network provides forum to share experiences, projects and innovative solar food
processing and conservation technologies and techniques. The Solar Food
Conference 2009 is the final phase of the Solar Food project, which is
supported by the WISIONS Foundations. ISES is the coordinating partner of the
Solar Food Conference 2009.

School of Energy and Environmental Studies (SEES), a University Teaching Department under the
Faculty of Engineering Sciences was established in 1990. It also has an autonomous
sister unit Center of Energy Studies and Research (CESR). The school offers Ph.D., M. Tech., (Regular), M. Tech.
(Distance Learning) and M. Phil. Degree Programmes. The school's objectives are to provide trained manpower
